Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams submitted his resignation Wednesday afternoon.

I’m taking a step back to take care of my health and my family.
I appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears.

Before Williams announced his resignation.
head coach Matt Eberfluss declined to comment on his status with the team.

The sudden resignation came days after Williams missed the team’s loss to Tampa Bay
and hours after rumors spread on social media of a police raid at Hallis Hall.
The Bears deny that.
They say police were never there.
