Hugh Douglas son of ex-Eagles defender and 94.1 WIP host killed in car crash

A popular former Eagles player is dealing with a personal tragedy today,
Hugh Douglas,
the son
of that legendary defensive end by the same name,
was killed at a car crash near his college
In Atlanta.

with more on this utterly heartbreaking story,

Hey Brian,
Hugh Douglas’s son was pursuing a business degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta
and had a bright future ahead of him.
He was a Goldman Sachs fellow involved in a number of prestigious organizations within Morehouse
College and his father tweeting late last night,
you were already a better man than me.
Support is pouring in for Philadelphia Eagles legend Hugh Douglas,
the former defensive
end,
is grieving the tragic and untimely death of his son,
who’s also named Hugh Douglas.
It was killed Monday evening in this crash just outside of Atlanta.
It really brought my heart because I was all my way to the same party.
Douglas was in the vehicle with his friend and Morehouse College roommate Christian Files Jr.
at the time of the crash.

Police say Files was behind the wheel and was trying to pass another car at a high
rate of speed when he slammed into two utility poles,
both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Morehouse community is grieving their loss,
those who knew them say both men were bright
rising scholars at Morehouse.
Hugh was just a good spirit involved in so many organizations on campus,
just everything you could
imagine.
He wanted to do so much more.
Today,
Eagles head coach Nick Seriani took a moment to share his condolences with the Douglas
family.
We’re a tragic and I’m told the young man was a unbelievable kid.
More support coming in from Eagles defensive end,
Brandon Graham,
as a father himself,
he
says he can’t imagine the pain of losing a child,
especially one with so much life ahead of him.
Make you go over and wrap your arms around the kids even more because no day is coming.
And so life taken far too soon,
Douglas was set to graduate from Morehouse College in 2025.
And the entire Morehouse College community is supporting the Douglas family and students as they take the
time they need to grieve the tragic loss.
